3:4 The Market:
EMA will then turn attention to the more “hard core” gamers market. Yet we will also offer a casual gamer the opportunity to be involved, we believe we can find a market for both, in the one game!
The most successful online game “World of Warcraft” is generating $100M US per month! However we believe we can move ahead of the market by attracting both the casual gamer and also the hard core gamers, with no monthly fee to pay!
Beyond the prospect of building a financially successful game; we believe there is a very real need for games to be produced where the youth is exposed to a positive environment, rather than the negative one that currently exists in the vast majority of online games. World of Warcraft alone has 8,000,000 users, most play the game every day for hours under the misconception of autonomy, a world without rules. Millions of children every day are being exposed to emotional and psychological destructive behaviour in an environment where anarchy reigns. This is a very real concern to us at EMA and should be to any responsible thinking adult. We are not apposed to action games perse, nor are we suggesting that short time exposure to violence in computer games will program kids to become serial killers. What we acknowledge is, there is indisputable evidence, documented from numerous studies together with the anecdotal evidence of life, which clearly demonstrates that continuos exposure to a negative environment will produce a negative mind set. We must then conclude that; computer games where users lie, cheat, betray and abuse each other and are rewarded with an advantage, will develop a negative mind set and this will have dire consequences in the future. The negative culture that this will bread into millions of lives must; at the least, be balanced with games that require positive skill sets to be developed, to succeed in the game. This, by nature of the game play, will create a more positive environment and thus more positive individuals. We have achieved this, with the concept of our strategic game, “Land of Legends”. |
