History:
In 1998 we knew the landscape had changed dramatically since the rise of the great giants of the IT world such as Microsoft, Apple, Yahoo and Google. Yet all these organizations continue to look for more opportunities for consumers and future markets. We knew we had to offer something different to the consumer to attract their attention on the vast world of the web. The key principles we wanted as the foundation for the organization was, that members had to be able to get various benefits from their membership but also devise a business model where members could be given the opportunity to become a partner in the enterprise. Our goal was to design a very real investment, business opportunity for our members which is reflected in our progress. We have had our challenges with funding; research and development in the computer technology field a particularly large expense. The collapse of the HIH group and Lifestyle property developments during a time when they were both large debtors Lords & Associates, further hindered progress.
Eventually we concluded that the best way to form a community was by building three areas of the business simultaneously, in order to create a self funding growth. We needed to build a client base through traditional means and offer benefits to become members of our web site; this in turn would create revenue for further development. Out of this; the EMA Network opportunity was born. We are still facing new and fresh hurdles every day, from a stolen URL, to deranged web hosts and a close to death experience from food poisoning to the writer somewhere in-between. Yet we are aware when you are trying to build something great challenges will come; only the individual can choose whether it will be a hurdle, a detour, or the end of the road.
A decision was made to leave financial planning and focus only on lending, still today Lords is a licensed finance broker and we continue to expand this area, it remains Lords largest revenue stream, at this stage. Lords has fought on to greater strength, building several business revenue streams along the way. We now have several functioning divisions across a diverse range, which are registered businesses in their own right, all solely owned by Lords & Associates Pty Ltd. These businesses form the base of some of the benefits and opportunities that we are able to offer our members.
It should be noted that not all these streams are currently revenue producing, all will be in the short term. Most divisions have at some time produced income and have contributed towards our current data base of members. As the population grows the market base for these businesses will also expand. The incoming revenue will assist towards more services and greater content. Hence the combining of the three areas of, Community, Commerce and Content produces a self perpetuating design. |
